Tungsten carbide has good thermal conductivity (its heat transfer coefficient is twice that of steel), less hardness reduction at high temperature, good heat resistance fatigue, good wear resistance, high strength, suitable for high-speed rolling. Difficult to achieve with other material volumes. In high speed wire mills, the roller ring is made of solid carbide, but it is not practical to use solid carbide rolls for bar mills.
