Solid tungsten carbide rolls have been widely used in industry, especially for the rolling of hard materials and thin strips, and the surface finish and precision are particularly strict.
Composite rolls with carbide rings are used for rolling narrow strips, strip edging, wire levelling and special-shaped wires, where precision and finish are critical.
Tungsten carbide is also used in head mills to produce square or rectangular wire from round wire with good finish and precision.
